Edit alias not possible
Problem reported by Mars _ - 12/1/2014 at 7:43 AM
Not A Problem
Hello!

I get an error when trying to edit the settings of an alias.

The error log shows me the following:
[CurrentUser: office@domain.net]
[01.12.2014 13:26:27]
http://mail.domain.net/DomainAdmin/frmAlias.aspx?mode=edit&Alias=hostmaster
System.NullReferenceException: Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt.
   bei SMWeb.DomainAdmin.frmAlias.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)
   bei System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e)
   bei SMWeb.HelperClasses.CustomPage.OnLoad(EventArgs e)
   bei System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive()
   bei System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)
Application Error

Also the title "Internal only" (normally) shows "DomainAdmin.frmAliases_InternalOnly" in red letters.

I think this happened after updating to the current version 13.0.5430.
Can anybody give me a hint?

Thanks!
Mars

Hello Setve!
Another solution preferred - production server / downtime ...
Did a reboot after upgrade to V13.

Thanks

Doing a reboot after installation doesn't really help. There are proper procedures to follow when upgrade to a major release.

The column header "DomainAdmin.frmAliases_InternalOnly" shows if that particular entry is missing from the en.xml file.  Make sure that the following entry is in the en.xml file:

<resource name="DomainAdmin.frmAliases_InternalOnly">Internal only</resource>

That file is located here (assuming default installation):
C:\Program Files (x86)\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\MRS\App_Data\Translations\en.xml
C:\Program Files (x86)\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\Service\Translations\en.xml

Hello!

I copied the XML files from another install - the column header is showing up now.
But I still get the "Ooops page" when I try to edit an alias.
I think I will have to uninstall & reinstall and reboot ...

Thanks!
