SMTP Blocking does not seem reject incoming messages from authenticated senders

One of our customers has an application that periodically sends out emails through our server to invalid email addresses such as example@example.com , none@none.com , noreply@noreply.com , etc.

I added a few of those email addresses to the SMTP block list for both incoming and outgoing email
( Security > Advanced > SMTP Blocking )

However it seems that authenticated senders are still able to send messages to those addresses (which linger in the spool until delivery times out)

Is that expected behavior?  if so, is there some way to configure smartermail to dump messages that are sent  to a specific email address without affecting the entire domain?
