Outlook for Mac syncing to Smartermail 15.x Enterprise

I have a new client who is using Outlook 2016 for Mac and would like to continue. They are moving from their own Exchange server to us using SM15Ent.

What are the syncing options for Email, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks between Smartermail and Outlook 2016 for Mac?

From what I can see its only EWS, am I right?

If they use the standard Mac applications then the SM CardDav and CalDav plus IMAP can handle everything but Tasks? Is this correct?

Look forward to some confirmation or other wise.

Were you ever able to resolve this? Can you use Outlook 2016 for Mac and SM 15 Enterprise without having to degrade to IMAP or POP?
