Same email looping from spool

Hi, I seem to be having an issue with the SM spool.
I have had a few clients complaining that they are being spammed by a certain email.
The problem is that its only 1 email thats sat in the spool marked as "waiting to deliver", this is obviously looping constantly.
One client had this happen all over the weekend and came into have several thousand of the same email delivered and still delivering. Obviously removing that item from the spool cures the issue, but it doesn't cure the problem.
Is there any way i can stop this, had it 3 times in the last week or so?
