External IP address not available for binding

I'm trying to install smartermail on a standalone server that has an existing website bound to the external IP address.  I also have the built-in SMTP server installed, but it's in manual mode and the service isn't running.  In the setup wizard, and in settings, the external IP address is not available for binding.  Is there a way to set this up using host headers?

Map the external IP address to an internal IP address in your router and then use the internal to bind your ports and domains.

Just remember to map the FQDN HOSTNAME for your SmarterMail server to the public IP address in the host name mapping.
