Outlook 2016 Issue - Mark as read not working properly
Problem reported by Jens Straten - 11/23/2015 at 1:22 PM

I don't know if anybody has reported this before, but since we upgraded to Outlook 2016, we found that selecting "Marking all as read" doesn't work the first time a user tries.  Basically, it resets itself to unread within a second or so.  However, when the user tries it a second time, it works just fine.
Has anybody noticed the same behavior?  Any suggestions on how to resolve it?
Thank you!

I`m seeing the same issue with Outlook 2016, plus some. The issues we are seeing with the latest SM 14 + Outlook 2016 synced via EAS:
- Marking emails as read - sometimes they go back to being unread after 1 sec or so
- Marking emails as read - most of the times they stay read in Outlook 2016, but the read status is not synced back to SM. In WebMail, ~ 70% of emails marked as read in Outlook 2016 are still unread.. Moreover, since we all have also smartphones connected via EAS, we can also see the emails there being as unread.
- Moving emails in folders using Outlook 2016 is in at least 50% of the cases not synced back to SM (in WebMail they are in the same folder and so they also appear using the smartphone clients)
- Some users get 25% of their emails stuck in the Outbox when sending email via Outlook 2016.

To conclude, it seems that syncing SM to Outlook 2016 via EAS is flaky at best. However, our users need Outlook and only via EAS it comes close to having the same functionality as when they synced to an Exchange server..

I really hope SmarterMail devs are working on improving the functionality of SM and Outlook 2016 via EAS, otherwise moving from MS Exchange to SM was a mistake..
