Hemen, to clarify are you wanting to block messages from being able to send to certain users on a external domain? Unforunately, there isn't a way to accomplish this at the moment.

It would be easy to do if SmarterMail content filtering worked on outbound messages, but it doesn't.

It is possible to do what you want by writing a ClamAV signature that would consider a message that contained the various senders and recipients as a virus.

Hi Robert,

I want to block certain users of domain from sending mails to external domain.
For e.g: on our server user@abc.com should be able to send mails only to users of abc.com and he should not be allowed to send mails to xyz.com or yahoo or gmail

Just internal mailing within own domain

Hemen, as a domain administrator, edit the user that you do not want to send messages to external domains.  Under the Service Access tab, uncheck "Enable outgoing SMTP access".  They will be able to send messages internally only.

Hi Robert, i checked the same by logging in domain admin and user edit but no option as such of Enable Outgoing SMTP access, i do see such option in SM ADMIN - domain default and tried to propogate the same but still not getting such option at user level.

Good afternoon. This question has been asked 5 or 6 times in this forum, but I don't believe it has ever been fully answered with a working solution. We just did some testing on this and it looks like there may not be a way to do what you are asking in Smartermail. However, you can use Declude content filters to accomplish this. If you don't already know, Declude is free anti-spam software that we offer on our website. You can download it here http://mailsbestfriend.com/downloads. You don't have to use it for spam filtering. You can simply configure it with the specific filters that you need to use without affecting anything else on your server. I hope this helps.
