Outlook 2010 - Make Smartermail Calendar my Default Calendar?
Question asked by Tim DeMeza - 10/7/2014 at 5:44 PM
Answered
Ok, I have Outlook 2010 on my personal machine and one thing that has driven me nuts is the fact that it is not the default calendar.  When someone sends me a calendar invite it always ends up in my stand alone calendar and not in my SmarterMail calendar that is synched to my phone.  Using IMAP.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I am just checking to see if I am crazy or if this is even possible? Maybe its a configuration issue? Any responses with assistance are appreciated.

Hello Tim,

Thanks for the inquiry. We have been asked this question in the past and generally speaking you would not be able to make any adjustments to get the SmarterMail calendar to be the default or recognized before the Outlook calendar.  This is primarily a limitation to the Outlook client.
In Outlook 2013 you can sync the calendar and have the details be matched to the client and other handheld devices.
Thanks.

When you say "Outlook 2013 you can sync the calendar" what exactly do you mean?  are you referring to EAS, a setting in outlook for sync, third party app etc?  can you provide details on this sync you are referring to and how to set it up?

I completely agree with digital.iway, additional information would be helpful in knowing if I just need to install Outlook 2013, or is there more to it. And if there is more to it.. What specifically is it? Thank you!
