SmarterMail 12 & Outlook 2010 Calendar - Add to Outlook Problem
Problem reported by Tim DeMeza - 10/7/2014 at 5:41 PM

I have a user who is on Windows 8.  They have the full version of Office 2010 and they want to get their Smartermail calendar into outlook.  So I go to the smartermail web interface, go to the calendar, then under actions I choose, Add to Outlook.  I choose Outlook 2007 or Later and leave the other settings alone.  Press OK.  Then get a window that states, do you want to allow this website to open an app on your computer?  So I press Allow.

Then I get a windows error:  No apps are installed to open this type of link (stssync).  My only option then is to Look for an app in the store.  I don't want that, I want to use outlook.

That is it.. I am stuck, dead in the water.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hello Tim,
Thanks for your inquiry. I wanted to see if you were able to get this matter corrected. I have tested the 'Add to Outlook' process on my Windows 8 Box. I see the similar message when choosing to allow the application to open the app on the computer. The reason is that I do not have Outlook 2007 or higher installed and it is asking for the App to be installed through the store.
Thanks.
