Email Registration Inaccuracy

My main domain portal which I have been using successfully now, when logged in there is a  Preference page that reports:
 
"Your account has been registered but not verified. Follow the instructions in the email that was sent to you."
 
Yet it is registered and verified. There is a button to resend the verification email. Clicking it never delivers and email.
 
Logging into a Brand url reports: "Your account has been registered.", yet it has not been registered / verified and there is no resend verification email button.
 
In summary the verification of emails is opposite - verified emails reporting not verified, unverified emails reporting verified.
