copying content filtering setup to another account or domain...
Idea shared by wayne granzin - 2/18/2015 at 7:51 PM
Proposed
in the smartermail web interface, i've set up a fairly elaborate set of about a dozen content filtering rules (to direct messages into specific folders).

i'd like to use them on another address on the same domain.

is it possible to copy this set of rules to another address or even to an entirely other domain?

Right now you are not able to copy the content filter from one domain to another.  You could edit the domainconfig.xml and copy the contact filter from that domain and then past it into the domainconfig.xml of the other domain.  Before you make any changes you will want to back up the domainconfig.xml and do this while SmarterMail is stopped.

I will also change this thread to proposed so other users can vote up this suggestion.

ok. so copying to another domain may be challenging. but what about copying them to another user on the same domain?

If you want to copy a users content filter it will be the same steps but it will be the usersconfig.xml file that is located under the users account.
