How do I import folders through Windows Explorer?
Question asked by Brian Henson - 1/29/2015 at 10:06 AM
Unanswered
I have a few hundred empty folders that I need to import into user's inboxes. Instead of adding them one at a time through the interface I wanted to see if I could add them through Windows Explorer.

After putting the folders into the user's inbox, other than restarting the SmarterMail Service, is there anything else that needs done?

You need to use a client like Outlook, create the account using either IMAP or ActiveSync. Then you can drag and drop from your master template.

The account already exists, I just need to add a large number of folders to it.

I would say it's going to be manual then as I there is no way to drag a file structure into a mail server unless I am totally missing what you're saying. SmarterTools may have a solution that may work with manipulating the operating system.

OK, looks like I can drag and drop folders through IMAP with Thunderbird. I'll just use that. Thanks.
