Happy New Year !

Today i have decided to spend a few minutes (turning into hours) to clean up my inbox. To sort and filter some of the 10,000+ emails in just my inbox and to create and put them into their respective folders.

What i am surprised at is that i can create all of these content filtering rules that work great on new inbound email, but there is no way that i see to say "Run this rule now" and have a rule or set of rules run on the inbox, after the email has already arrived and is just sitting there. This would make getting organized, part of the new years resolution, a LOT easier for many of us and our clients.

So, there should be a button at the top of the "content filter" list where you can check off the list of wanted filters in the list and have them "run now" to allow content filtering on demand.

I agree with this, but then wouldn't you sometimes want to select which emails and/or mailboxes would be subjected to "filter now"? I could see problems with "filter now" if there's lots of mail, many mailboxes (or both) to filter.

Curtis, thank you for you suggestion. We have discussed a similar feature already using a wizard that would allow the user to configure options similar to content filtering. I am marking this a Under Consideration at this time.

Thanks. But are you talking about a completely differnet feature ? Or would it actually utilize the existing content filters ? I dont want to have to recreate additional filter rules in a seperate feature, I just want to run the ones i already have.

Thanks Paul ! I am sure they could build it to also run on other mailboxes(folders), but in my case the only time mail would be in other mailboxes already, is when they have already gone through the filters. I could see it also being used to further "sub filter" an exting folder, as you suggest too though.

Its been 8 months, has this feature request been worked on at all ?

This is now an important item so i can once again segregate all of the contents of a mailbox that was polluted. It now needs to resort after the fact that it arrived in the inbox.

A feature Eudora had about a zillion years ago. Also needed (a la Eudora) a way to continue on to the next filter condition(s) even after a particular filter condition is met.

Yep Paul, that is where I got it from. I used to use this feature in Eudora back in I think 1995 -

We are seeing this feature as a must have these days when bringing new customers onboard who may not have good email practises.

It would be an awesome POD between O365 and all other mail servers to be able to implement this and make SmarterMail THE go to mail server for a lot of clients and resellers.

any news on the implementation?

When or Is this going to be implemented? I think all email software has the ability to create and run a content filter. This is a MAJOR MUST...Please implement it!
