Which Log File Fields are Necessary to Check in IIS?

 

Applies to: SmarterStats 4.x

These are the necessary log fields that WX3Cex log files need to have for SmarterStats to process them correctly and show all reports:

1. date*
2. time*
3. c-ip*
4. cs-username (if Windows authentication is used and you want to track them)
5. cs-method
6. cs-uri-stem*
7. cs-uri-query (if you want to track query items for data mining)
8. sc-status
9. sc-substatus
10. sc-win32-status
11. sc-bytes ( if you would like to track bandwidth)
12. cs-bytes ( if you would like to track bandwidth)
13. cs-hosts
14. cs(User-Agent) ( if you would like to track browser or bots)
15. cs(Referrer) (if  you would like to track referrer or search engine)

 

If you have less data, the system will work but reports will be missing data. The fields marked with "*" are required and rows without them will NOT be imported.
